AM-Austria Reviews a Productive Spring: Diverse Activities for Innovation and Sustainability
From March to May 2025, AM-Austria played a key role in numerous events and initiatives that emphasized the relevance of Additive Manufacturing (AM) in building a sustainable and forward-looking industry.
At the ATIMA Workshop on March 3rd in Vienna, AM-Austria initiated in-depth discussions on strategic developments in the field of advanced materials. Complementing this, a half-day training session for members was held on March 6th in Ternitz, addressing topics such as material-specific parameter optimization in laser powder bed processes and cold spray technologies.
Further highlights included participation in “Biopolymers & Beyond” (April 1–2, Vienna), a visit to the TU Space and TU Racing teams (April 7), and contributions to the 3D-Printing Forum on April 8.
International engagement was strengthened through a study trip to Sweden (May 25–29), where Austrian researchers exchanged insights with leading institutes in the field of lightweight construction and advanced manufacturing. At the 13th SMART TEXTILES Forum in Stuttgart, intersections between smart textiles and AM were also explored.
The quarter concluded with the nanoNET Meeting (May 23, Vienna), which focused on nanotechnology and quantum sensing, as well as a political dialogue with Styrian Minister Willibald Ehrenhöfer, underlining AM-Austria’s role in shaping policy-relevant innovation strategies.
This active spring period highlights AM-Austria’s position as a central platform for technology transfer and sustainable industrial transformation in Austria and beyond.
